Sangiovese “SABBIOSO” IGT Benaco Bresciano


Its color is a lively ruby red with light garnet reflections; its aroma, particularly ethereal and warm given the good alcohol content, leads to a scent of ripe fruit, with plums and cherry in evidence: the effect of long maceration on the skins. As the wine is oxygenated, it shows a good and slightly spicy wood aroma which, in few minutes, tends to predominate without hiding the fragrance and the slight hint of Mammola typical of Sangiovese.

In mouth explodes in an intensity of aromas and warm and vinous aftertaste accompanied by a soft tannins and a correct acidity. Once bottled it can face a further aging for 8/10 years.

A pure Sangiovese in Valtènesi? Thanks to Gigi it is possible! And it is undoubtedly his favorite wine: he conceived it, created it and takes care of all the production phases with meticulous attention, he pampers it from the harvest to the bottle. It is a red character wine produced with grapes coming from the vineyards, planted in 1968, located on the hill overlooking the hamlet of Castrezzone, unique for its exposure and soil. Grapes, after an accurate selection, are harvested, crushed and fermented for about 18 days; the wine is subsequently aged for about 18-20 months in Slavonian oak barrels having a capacity of 5 Hl.

We consider Sabbioso a wine with a capital V: it is produced with Sangiovese grapes, the most common and famous grapes cultivated in Italy. It is the wine of great occasions and to be shared with loved ones in front of a fireplace!
